TG is committed to conducting all its business activities with honesty and integrity. This Code is a formal operating guide approved by TG's Board of Directors. The standards and principles included here address two main areas — compliance and ethical conduct. Compliance means following applicable laws, regulations, and TG policies that govern our business conduct.
As a result of frequent announcements by corporations and corporate leaders in recent years, we are familiar with what ethical behavior is not. It is not "meeting the numbers" in all events or taking unfair advantage of stakeholders, employees and business associates. Ethical behavior can be hard to define. But, in essence, it means performing your job in a responsible way, conducting yourself properly, and doing what's right. Qualities like respect, honesty, trust, and integrity are the hallmarks of ethical behavior. These qualities — along with compliance — form the framework for conducting TG's business.
The TG Code of Business Conduct is a very important tool for helping us capture these qualities so that we can be the premier source of information, financing, and assistance to help all families and students realize their educational and career dreams and be the Guarantor of ChoiceSM. The Code is intended to help us make good decisions by clarifying the standards all TG employees are expected to follow in the workplace.
Every organization's image and reputation are determined by the example set by its people. We are proud of TG's image in Texas and nationwide and are confident that we will maintain high standards in all that we do. This Code is intended to assist all of us in carrying out our jobs in an ethical manner and in ensuring that TG's reputation continues to shine.
