Research Specialist/Analyst

The Research Specialist/Analyst will perform complex research in support of management and business decisions by assisting in marketing analysis, developing questionnaires, planning focus groups, generating samples, analyzing data, and writing reports. The Research Specialist/Analyst will also develop new reports that relate to fiscal, operations, and/or marketing issues to meet customer demand using SAS as the primary reporting tool. The Research Specialist/Analyst will often participate in small, informal research teams to accomplish objectives.

Education Required
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major work in marketing, sociology, research methodology, statistical analysis, economics, mathematics, business administration, or social sciences.

Experience/skills Required
A minimum of one year of SAS or comparable statistical software programming required. A minimum of one year of survey design or market research experience required. Two years experience writing research reports is required, although may be substituted for two years of graduate school experience or three years experience in the student loan industry. The applicant must have strong research and writing skills; knowledge of statistical concepts, and research methodology. Knowledge of MS Excel is required.

Preferred Qualifications
Graduate training in a related field. Intermediate SAS programming experience. Ability to handle data merges. Ability to perform data analytical procedures in MS Excel. Knowledge of SQL. Ability to operationalize customer requests into programming logic. Experience with business to business market research. Experience in survey design. Experience in giving presentations. Experience working in or with institutions of higher education and/or the banking industry. An understanding of the legislative process; and the ability to interpret statutes, regulations and rules.
