TG's Commitment to Student Success

TG is a public, nonprofit corporation that has helped provide educational access to millions of students for nearly 30 years. Our vision is to be the premier provider of information, products, and services to help students and families realize their education and career dreams.

To help achieve that vision, TG conducts initiatives, trainings, and outreach in line with the principles of comprehensive enrollment management, organized into the following areas:

  • The Charley Wootan Grant Program, established in 2000, provides postsecondary educational funding for students with financial need. Since its inception, the program has awarded over $10 million to more than 5000 students nationwide.
  • The Council for Student Financial Success in Higher Education works to eliminate barriers created by economic conditions, language, immigration status, and other circumstances by supplying industry knowledge to native Spanish speakers and others in need.
  • The Pre-College Success function provides outreach to students and families to empower them to make informed decisions about education prior to and after graduating from high school. The Pre-College Success Ambassador Program sends volunteer TG team members into underserved communities to provide the information students need to pursue postsecondary education. Adventures In Education (AIE™) provides online college planning resources, financial aid information, career guidance, and money management tips to help families and students achieve their goals.
  • Perhaps the most demonstrative expression of TG's commitment to student success is the Public Benefit Competitive Grant Program, the company's philanthropic initiative established in 2005. The program awards grants to institutions and nonprofit organizations to advance college access, student retention, and educational research. To date, TG has awarded nearly $34 million.
  • The Student Persistence and Success function engages all sectors of higher education, state agencies, community-based organizations, P-16 councils, and educational associations to increase postsecondary enrollment, retention, and program completion. This function is also responsible for the Enrollment Management Journal and the website you are now visiting.
  • The interactive TG Financial Literacy Program provides "ready-to-roll" training materials so college access and success professionals can offer those they serve a high-quality financial literacy training event with minimal effort. The curriculum covers general consumer information relevant to students including college costs, spending plans, and managing credit. The content is presented in "sticky" mini-modules, meaning that each course is short yet memorable. Request a training event or demonstration today!

Together, these programs comprise TG's Student and Institutional Success department, one of the many groups within TG working to promote student success. To find out more about TG's student-oriented programs, visit the Families and Students page.
