Sign up for Shoptalk
TG publishes the Shoptalk blog to help you foster student success in higher education. With each post, Shoptalk offers timely news and resources on issues important to you, including financial aid, student outreach, enrollment management, financial literacy, default aversion, and industry training.

Day in and day out, you are there for your students, encouraging them to pursue and achieve success beyond high school. TG knows that you want to reach as many students as possible so that each one feels prepared and encouraged to pursue a postsecondary education.

That's why TG has developed helpful resources — arranged together here for convenience — to help you extend your reach and impact more students directly. TG has organized these in a way that we hope is most worthwhile to your daily interactions with students. You can download these resources for distribution to, or direct use with, the students you serve.

  • First, TG has created resources for each phase of college readiness. Specifically, TG has developed tools to help students:
    • Exploring career paths and related educational requirements
    • Engaging in early high school activities to prepare for college
    • Taking entrance exams and applying to college
    • Applying for financial aid
    • Choosing a school
    • Making the move to start college
  • Second, TG has built a collection of ready reference materials that include:
    • Handouts
    • How-to's
  • Third, TG has created a page for frequently asked questions about the corporation, its public service, and its resources.

Planning a college night? TG can help.

TG conducts outreach and awareness activities through the TG Ambassador Program. TG team members, or "Ambassadors," attend financial aid fairs, college nights, and college preparation workshops at high schools, colleges, community centers, and faith-based venues. Ambassadors speak to parents and students about the benefits of a postsecondary education, direct them to resources, explain the financial aid and admissions processes, and present TG's message that higher education is both accessible and achievable.

Interested in speaking to someone about TG's Ambassador Program? Call Bonita Peebles at (512) 219-4784. Or, e-mail Bonita at bonita.peebles@tgslc.org.

We wish you the best of luck as you continue on your mission to guide aspiring college students toward success!
