Make the Most of Your Default Prevention Efforts
Successful default prevention efforts depend on one thing: cooperation. To succeed, all partners in the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) must work together. TG is committed to encouraging and maintaining that cooperative spirit.

Achieving Systemic Default Aversion Program
TG collaborates with the financial aid community to develop effective default aversion programs, including Achieving Systemic Default Aversion (ASDA).
Through the ASDA program, TG provides direct technical assistance and support to schools in developing campus-wide default management plans. ASDA encourages a whole-campus approach to default prevention. TG's full-time default aversion consultants work directly with schools to improve default rates by implementing proven default prevention strategies.
Default aversion consultants tailor ASDA training and support to fit each school's unique needs. Schools can choose training for individuals or the whole campus, and can select from a wide range of training topics. Consultants can also help schools develop and implement new strategies specific to each campus.
TG's ASDA program and support have helped several schools achieve dramatic reductions in their cohort default rates-from dangerously high numbers to impressively lower numbers in subsequent years.
TG Delinquency Prevention Call Center
TG has created a new team dedicated to counseling borrowers before they enter repayment, to help ensure that they are ready to begin repaying their student loans.
The Delinquency Prevention Call Center makes proactive calls to borrowers who may be at a higher risk for delinquency or default, such as those who withdraw or stop attending mid-term, before they enter repayment on their loans.
Delinquency prevention counselors help borrowers identify why they have decided to leave school and encourage borrowers to explore their options for continuing postsecondary education. Borrowers are also counseled about the various repayment options available to them before they are expected to begin making monthly payments. Borrowers who are experiencing hardship are informed of options for avoiding delinquency.
TG follows up on the calls by sending borrowers information on money management, a personalized account summary detailing all of their student loans, and brochures explaining repayment options.
Innovation to help you succeed
Default Prevention uses innovative technologies to improve information distribution and collection and to ensure optimum customer service:
- Predictive Auto-dialer. Automatically dials borrower telephone numbers to increase speed and efficiency. The dialer's call blending feature allows counselors to switch automatically between placing outbound calls and receiving inbound calls based on inbound call volume.
- Automatic Call Distribution (ACD). Automatically distributes incoming calls to available counselors to ensure efficient service. The software also monitors service levels, which we display for all counselors to see.
- Screen Pop. Allows account information to be displayed automatically on a counselor's computer when a telephone call is received.
- Skip-trace Tools. Our Borrower Locate Team uses credit bureau reports, municipal utility files from major Texas cities, National Change of Address (NCOA), web-based directories, information provided by schools (such as that from exit interviews), and information from government agencies that is not available to many commercial institutions.
TG's Student/Parent Loan Inquiry
Provide your student loan borrowers easy access to a summary of their loan information. TG's Student/Parent Loan Inquiry helps students keep track of the loans they have received, their lenders and servicers, the status of their loans, and more. The information TG's Student/Parent Loan Inquiry provides allows them to make well-informed borrowing and repayment decisions and reduces the number of phone calls to your staff.
