Total and Permanent Disability Discharge Forms

This discharge is intended for individuals who have a total and permanent disability (TPD). Federal regulations define TPD as "The condition of an individual who is unable to work and earn money because of an injury or illness that is expected to continue indefinitely or result in death."
A borrower seeking discharge of his or her loan obligation due to total and permanent disability must complete the following application and forward it to his or her loan holder:

Note: If a borrower provides documentation that he or she has been determined by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to be unemployable due to a service-connected condition, the borrower will be considered totally and permanently disabled for the purpose of discharging the borrower's loan(s).
