What is a Special Access Code?

Special Access Codes are used to direct students to the appropriate learning plans created by their instructors or other advisors. The Learning Plan will include the specific courses your instructor is requesting you complete. When possible, the Learning Plan will include the date by which you must complete the courses. This code on your profile will allow your instructor to view your training results. You may enter up to 6 codes at a time if you've received multiple assignments in the Learning Center.

If you do not have a Special Access Code, you may skip this step and access the general catalog of courses.

Where do I enter the Special Access Code I was given?

The code you received is referred to as a Special Access Code; it is 12 characters long and must be entered on your myTG Learning Center profile within myTG. If this is your first time to visit the site, follow the directions above and enter the code when you are prompted during the registration process.

If you have visited the Learning Center before, select the Update your Learning Center Profile in the top right corner of the screen. This will take you to your profile where you can enter the Special Access Code before accessing the Learning Center. For detail steps, see below.

I entered a Special Access Code, but still don't see my Learning Plan.

The assignment process may take a few minutes to display. Refresh your browser to see the Learning Plan or begin your first course and the Learning Plan should be available when you return to the Home page. In addition to receiving a notice from TG that your myTG profile has been updated, you will receive a separate email from the Learning Center once your Learning Plan assignment is available.

Go back to the myTG window to confirm you entered the code correctly. It should be 12 characters long and should begin with a letter. If there is an issue, update the code, save your update, and re-launch the Learning Center.

If you entered more than one Special Access Code, please note that only the first Learning Plan will default to displaying the list of courses in the plan. To view the details of the others, select the title of the Learning Plan to expand the class list.

If you continue to experience issues contact TG's Customer Assistance at (800) 845-6267 or by email at cust.assist@tgslc.org.

I am not on my instructor's Learning Center status reports.

The most common issue is a mistyped Special Access Code. Follow the instructions to add, modify, or remove a Special Access Code on my profile after I register above.
