TG co-sponsors chat event on financial aid, career planning
Round Rock, Texas — January marks the start of the financial aid application season for those who are planning to start college in the fall. Mapping Your Future, a public service Web site co-sponsored by TG and other student loan guarantors, is offering an online chat to answer questions on financial aid, career planning, and online college and scholarship resources. The one-hour event is scheduled for Jan. 11, 2005, starting at 6 p.m. (CST).
The chat provides a unique opportunity for students, who are planning to attend a college or university, to receive answers to specific financial aid questions and help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Financial aid experts from across the country will be available throughout the chat to discuss the following issues:
- Paying for school;
- Completing the FAFSA application;
- Determining eligibility for federal student aid; and
- Calculating financial need and expected family contribution.
Anyone with Internet access can join in the chat by visiting http://mapping-your-future.org.
