F.H. "Skip" Landis appointed to TG board of directors

Round Rock, Texas — Dr. "Skip" Landis, director of the Biomedical Science Program in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University, has been appointed to the TG board of directors by Governor Rick Perry.

"Skip's leadership and experience in higher education and financial aid will help inform and support the decisions and actions of the board," said Sue McMillin, TG president and CEO. "TG shares his commitment to education, and we look forward to working with him to help the families and students of Texas achieve their educational and career goals."

As a member of the board, Landis will provide leadership for one of the nation's largest student loan guarantors, helping to ensure access to higher education for more than 350,000 students and families each year. TG currently guarantees more than $3 billion annually for student and parent borrowers through the Federal Family Education Loan Program. The company also assists students by providing information and guidance throughout the student's educational journey — from planning for college to successfully managing repayment of his or her student loans.

Landis is a member of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, the National Academic Advising Association, and the Council for the Management of Educational Finance. He is also a member of the Association of Texas Lenders in Education and the Texas Association of Advisors for the Health Professions, and a past member of the U.S. Department of Education's Master Promissory Note Task Force.
