Yvonne Batts appointed to TG board of directors

Round Rock, Texas — Yvonne Batts, vice-president and co-owner of Batts Communications Inc., in Abilene, Texas, has been appointed to the TG board of directors by Governor Rick Perry.

"Yvonne's record of achievement and service in business and her community will be of great benefit to TG," said Sue McMillin, TG president and CEO. "We look forward to working with her to help ensure educational opportunities for the families and students of Texas."

As a member of the board, Batts will provide leadership for one of the nation's largest student loan guarantors, helping to ensure access to higher education for more than 350,000 students and families each year. TG currently guarantees more than $3 billion annually for student and parent borrowers through the Federal Family Education Loan Program. The company also assists students by providing information and guidance throughout the student's educational journey — from planning for college to successfully managing repayment of his or her student loans.

Batts currently serves on the board of directors for the Abilene Industrial Foundation, the Hendrick Medical Center Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Abilene, Abilene Chamber of Commerce, and Goodwill Industries of West Texas.
