TG enhances its student loan management system

Round Rock, TX — Financial aid administrators, students, and student loan providers now have available a more flexible, open system with the launch of TG's enhanced AdvanTG Web™, a comprehensive application and loan management tool, and TG's Loans By Web™, a robust and interactive Web-based borrower loan application system.

Financial aid officers will see improved features such as:

  • Open student loan processing with any CommonLine-compliant guarantor or lender
  • Instant loan modifications; no waiting for batch processing
  • Plain-language menus for creating change transactions; no need to know CommonLine terminology
  • Adaptable reporting and query tools to help in default management efforts

"TG has been meeting with school colleagues to identify features and services that best fit their needs for processing and managing FFELP and private student loans, and working with lender colleagues to coordinate and smooth processes," explained Kim Alexander, TG Vice President of Customer Focus. "We've created a streamlined tool with the new AdvanTG Web, and designed it to work with existing Financial Aid Management Systems."

As part of the product rollout, TG's new Loans By Web (LBW) tool provides additional features that add to the interactive experience for borrowers. Students and parent PLUS borrowers will be able to use LBW features through a new portal which provides increased efficiency and security.

Schools will be able to offer LBW to all of their borrowers regardless of their guarantor-lender combinations; the system is designed to ease processing without splitting student loan portfolios. The new LBW provides a seamless process for electronically signing master promissory notes for all loan applications and notifies schools when students have completed their Master Promissory Note.

Lenders will also realize some changes creating distinct efficiencies from the AdvanTG Web and LBW enhancements. Through LBW, lenders have open data routing with support for key industry technologies such as: PLUS credit connection, integrated entrance counseling sessions, and interaction with external industry Web sites to preserve a borrower's choice of lender.
