On October 29, 2010, and June 13, 2011, the Department of Education (ED) published final regulations in the Federal Register on a collection of 14 topics known as "Program Integrity Issues." These final rules aim to strengthen the integrity of the Title IV programs. The new rules primarily impact schools — both financial aid professionals and their colleagues with other campus administration responsibilities.
To help schools understand and prepare to implement these rules, TG is providing this Program Integrity Web page that includes a number of TG, ED, and higher education industry resources. Other resources for schools are provided as TG Tools on this page, including a Compilation: Overview of 14 Program Integrity Topics, and a New Regulations Roadmap with time-saving features designed to assist financial aid professionals in learning about the new rules and formulating a plan of action to alert campus colleagues about applicable requirements. The Roadmap provides page references and direct links to preamble and regulatory language on each topic, for both proposed and final rules, to facilitate easier navigation of the Federal Register publications.
