2012 Negotiated Rulemaking

On May 1, 2012, the Department of Education (ED) published a notice in the Federal Register announcing its intention to establish one negotiated rulemaking (Neg Reg) committee to develop proposed regulations under the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended. ED also announced two public hearings at which interested parties may suggest issues that should be considered for action by the negotiating committee. In addition, for anyone unable to attend a public hearing, the Department will accept written comments.
To help schools and lenders stay up to date with Neg Reg activities, TG has developed this Web page, which will be updated as the negotiations continue.
