TG supports all processes in CommonLine 4 (CL4) and CommonLine 5 (CL5) — Applications, Disbursements Rosters, and Change Transactions.

Note: TG is also able to support a mixture of CL versions for different record types on the same loan.

TG can accept and process the following record types:

• Application/Loans in both CL4 and CL5
  • TG can accept and guarantee both Stafford and PLUS applications.
  • Processing types of Guarantee and Print (GP) as well as Guarantee Only (GO) are supported for loan requests. Note: an application packet will be generated and sent to the student if a processing type of GP is received.
  • For institutions with a CommonLine version of CL5, TG will accept application files from that institution in both CL5 and CL4.
  • The guarantee response sent to the originator of the application will be in the same CL version as was received.
• Disbursement Rosters and Acknowledgements in both CL4 and CL5
  • TG must receive Disbursement Rosters in the version indicated on the lender’s profile on TG’s system.
  • The CommonLine version of the Disbursement Roster sent to the school will be determined by the school’s profile on TG’s system.
  • Schools will receive one consolidated Roster for their disbursements from all lenders.
  • TG’s Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) can accept disbursement records for all except Adjusted Disbursements, which are used in netting.
• Change Transactions in both CL4 and CL5
  • TG accepts and processes all change transactions types.
  • TG also facilitates an electronic return of funds on post-disbursement cancellations and school refund requests.
  • TG must receive Change Transactions in the version indicated on the school's or lender's profile on TG's system.
  • TG will forward school-originated Change Transactions to the lender in the CL version indicated on the lender's profile on TG's system.
