Federal Updates

  • The FAFSA Process: Electronic from Start to Finish
    Starting in January 2002, students and parents can access their FAFSA personal identification numbers (PINs) electronically and will no longer have to wait for their PINs to arrive by mail.
  • The Lender's Role in Child Care Provider Loan Forgiveness
    FFELP lenders have a big role in the Child Care Provider Loan Forgiveness Program (CCPLFP).
  • Integrated FFELP Technical Corrections
    FFELP technical corrections and clarifying changes have been integrated into 34 Code of Federal Regulations part 682.
  • ED Seeks Comments
    In the Federal Registers dated August 7 and 8, 2001, ED solicited comments on four documents: The Loan Discharge Application: Unpaid Refund form; The FFELP and Direct Loan Teacher Loan Forgiveness Application; The FFELP Teacher Loan Forgiveness Forbearance Form; and The Student Aid Report.
  • ED Releases SFA Handbook Errata
    ED announced recently that during the printing process of the Student Financial Aid Handbook, numerous corrections and policy changes were identified and made to the handbook.
