Latest volume of the 2006-07 FSA Handbook now online
ED has released volume 5, Overawards, Overpayments, and Withdrawal Calculations, of the new 2006-07 Federal Student Aid Handbook (FSA Handbook). In total, four volumes of the latest FSA Handbook have been released.

National industry leaders to address 2006 TG Conference attendees
Already, more than 630 financial aid professionals representing schools, lenders, servicers, and other industry partners have confirmed their attendance at the 2006 TG Conference, to be held April 18 - 20 in Austin, Texas.

Reminder: TG offers free telephone conference this week on ED guidance on the HERA
TG is providing its school and lender partners with an analysis of the latest ED guidance on the Higher Education Reconciliation Act during two teleconferences, titled "ED Guidance on the Higher Education Reconciliation Act."

Reporting Back: 1985
The 1984 TG annual report, titled A Partnership of Texans, celebrated the fifth anniversary of Texas' guarantee agency while emphasizing the crucial role played in the corporation's success by many people within and outside of the organization.

It's panic time in many American homes as parents struggle to evaluate the financial aid packages for their soon-to-be college freshmen children — and figure out what to do if they don't get enough, reports the Associated Press in a March 24 article. Comparing the various offers — and appealing for reviews from campus aid offices — can be daunting, as is figuring out how to finance the rest. But most families work things out, experts say.
