Believe it or not, the recession has a silver lining. College enrollment is booming in all sectors of higher education, including 4-year and 2-year institutions. In a recent study, the Pew Research Center takes a close look at enrollment demographics and reports that much of the surge comes by way of minority enrollment. Almost three-quarters of the increase for 2007-08 came from minority freshman enrollment growth. Hispanic enrollment comprised the largest portion of this growth, increasing by 15 percent.
