Leadership training proves a hit with TG conference customers
Some 21 professionals from many sectors of the student services community attended this two-day training, which focused on the building blocks of leadership, including vision, systems thinking, coaching and performance management, and teambuilding.

TG posts more recordings of TG conference sessions
If you couldn't make it to the TG Annual Training Conference, you can view online recordings of particular sessions, including the keynote address, the federal update provided by an ED presenter, and a variety of policy workshops.

According to census projections, by 2050 nearly half the U.S. population will be non-white. Colleges and universities are focusing more resources on outreach to non-white communities, and many are interested in recruiting first-generation students and students from low-income backgrounds. An article in Academic Impressions lays out a four-point strategy for enrolling and promoting retention rates among these students. According to the article, administrators should educate their faculty on the challenges that first-gen students face; form a faculty liaison group; partner with local high schools in outreach efforts; and get the buy-in of first-gen parents by educating them on the college experience.
