College Access and Affordability Telethons

College Access and Affordability Telethons

TG, in collaboration with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), conducts annual College Access and Affordability (CAA) Telethons. The telethons provide information to family and student callers about college financial aid during normally scheduled local news telecasts.

By using the television station's ability to reach mass audiences across the state of Texas, TG and THECB provide key messaging on the importance of completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA). You don't have to be an expert to volunteer. Telephone volunteers receive training and support staff will also be available to assist throughout telephone shifts.

We encourage you to volunteer for this rewarding opportunity, and to share this invitation to volunteer with your colleagues. We are always in need volunteers to man the telephones, especially Spanish speakers. Note that we prefer to have both Spanish and English speakers at all telethons, however for those telethons where "Spanish" is indicated we especially need Spanish speaker volunteers. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
