College Access and Affordability Telethons

TG, in collaboration with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), conducts annual College Access and Affordability Telethons. The telethons provide information to families and students about college financial aid during the normally scheduled local news telecasts.

By using the television station's ability to reach mass audiences, TG and THECB provide key messaging on the importance of completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA). Callers receive assistance from trained volunteers from TG, the THECB, secondary and postsecondary institutions, and community-based organizations. We could always use additional volunteers, especially Spanish speakers.

Each telethon originates from the TG Headquarters in Round Rock, Texas. Please sign up below for one or more shifts.

Meals are provided during the evening shifts.
